Abstract

These Regulations implement provisions of the Merchant Shipping (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2002 relate to the investigation and reporting of marine accidents including accidents causing harm to the environment. They contain provisions relating to the conduct of investigations, the disclosure of records and the publication of reports. They also impose duties on various persons to report accidents, to retain information, and to provide information to the Chief Inspector of Marine Accidents appointed under section 257(1) of the Law. The Regulations also create offences.
