Abstract

The Act grants the State Government the power to establish and constitute a State Board to be known as the Meghalaya State Agricultural Marketing Board and details out the membership process, composition and powers of the Board. Additionally, the State Government is also empowered to set up market committees to regulate trading of any agricultural product, whether processed or non processed, of agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, aquaculture, sericulture, and forest as specified in the attached Schedules.
