This Order, made under articles 14(2) and 110 of the Medicines (Jersey) Law 1995, provides that the restriction imposed by article 8(3) of the Law shall not apply where a veterinary drug is imported in compliance with the terms of an authorization issued by the Minister. An authorization shall, subject to compliance with any conditions, authorize importation of any drug specified in the authorization. The Minister shall only authorize importation if it appears to the Minister that: (a) there is an urgent need to administer a veterinary drug in the treatment of animals for a disease or condition; and (b) there is no suitable veterinary drug which has a product licence.
