There is hereby established a Council to be known as the Medical and Dental Council. The Council shall be responsible for (a) determining the primary qualification and experience requisite for registration of medical and dental practitioners; (b) registering medical and dental practitioners; (c) promoting standards of professional conduct among medical and dental practitioners; (d) advising the Minister on matters relating to the practice of medicine and dentistry; and (e) all matters relating to discipline, and breaches professional conduct of persons registered under this Act.
