Abstract

The present Regulations enact the Meat Inspection Act. The Regulations lay down comprehensive provisions relating to an efficient, effective and appropriate meat inspection system providing consumers with safe and wholesome Nova Scotia meat and meat products. The text – consisting of 141 sections deals, amongst others, with the following aspects: plants and equipment, operation of plants, records, personnel, inspection of plants, ante mortem inspection, slaughter of animals, post mortem inspection, diseases and conditions, detention and administration. Three Forms are enclosed.
