Abstract The present Law lays down provisions relating to the inspection of meat. In particular, article 1 establishes that the Land Salzburg levies fees for: 1) the inspection of animals to be slaughtered and the inspection of meat, 2) taking samples and examining them, 3) the control of residues and 4) the control of hygiene in slaughterhouses and other enterprises. The text consisting of 11 articles – deals with the following aspects: amount of fees, persons liable to pay fees, competent authority for the levying of fees, use of fees and duty to register and notify.
