Abstract The purpose of these Measures is to strengthen the management of sewage treatment facilities and to protect the water environment. Sewage treatment facilities include all facilities as listed in article 3. Sewage treatment facilities shall ensure that the quality of water after treatment shall meet discharge standards, the quantity of the water treated shall not be less than what the corresponding production system shall treat, the sludge resulting from the sewage treatment shall be properly treated and disposed of, etc. The competent departments of environmental protection administration shall be responsible for the supervision and management of the sewage treatment facilities and are authorized to carry out inspection and monitoring of the operation and utilization of the facilities.
