Abstract The purpose of these Measures is to standardize management of organic food certification, promote the development of organic foods, prevent pesticides and chemical fertilizers from polluting the environment and protecting the ecological environment. Institutions which apply for an organic foods qualification certificate must submit an application form to the Organic Food Development Centre (OFDC) established by the State Environment Protection Administration. (Chapter II). Institutions that engage in organic foods production, operation and management must apply to organic food certification organizations (Chapter III). Institutions which have obtained the certificates may affix organic food labels, which shall be indicated by the OFDC, on labels, packaging, advertisement, etc. Attached to these Measures is the logo of organic food.
