Abstract These Measures provide for the monitoring of pollution sources i.e. monitoring of pollution discharge, monitoring of sites of production, storage, disposal, utilization and discharge of solid wastes, etc. Environmental protection bureaus at all levels shall organize supervisory monitoring of the pollution sources and assume responsibilities specified in Chapter II and be responsible for the establishment of local pollution sources monitoring networks and guide local monitoring work (Chapter III). Environmental protection bureaus in charge of pollution discharging units shall demand for environmental management, categories of pollutants discharged, state pollutants discharge standards, regulate the monitoring of pollutants outlets and pollution treatment facilities, etc. (Chapter IV and V). Environmental monitoring stations shall regularly report the results of monitoring and the registered pollution discharge data to the environmental protection bureau. Full text English/Chinese
