These Measures enter into force on 1 May 2002.
Abstract

These Measures are formulated in accordance with the Fisheries Law of the People's Republic of China, aiming to strengthen the protection, increase, development and reasonable utilization of fishery resources, develop aquaculture, safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of fishery producers, and promote the development of fishery production. The Text consists of 42 Articles divided into 6 Chapters: General provisions (I); Aquaculture (II); Fishing (III); Increase and protection of fishery resources (IV); Legal liabilities (V); Supplementary provisions (VI). The Text addresses the issues of aquaculture certificates, rules and requirements to be satisfied by any entity or individual engaged in aquaculture, fishing authorization, enforcement, conservation measures, collection of the fishery resource protection and enhancement fees, etc.
