These Measures enter into force on 5 July 2005.
Abstract

These Measures prescribe provisions for preventing fruit from spreading and carrying quarantine harmful organisms and poisonous and harmful substances and protecting the agricultural production, ecological safety and human health of China. The State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (referred to as the SAQSIQ) shall carry out unified supervision and control over the inspection and quarantine of the fruit throughout the country. For going through the examination and approval formalities for the quarantine and inspection of the fruit one shall file an application to the SAQSIQ and shall obtain an Entry Animal and Plant Quarantine License of the People's Republic of China (referred to as the EAPQL). The fruit shall meet inspection and quarantine requirements as listed in article 9. Import of fruit in China may be suspended in circumstances described in article 13.
