Abstract

This Statutory Measure requires producers, brokers, traders, buyers, processors, importers and exporters of wool to register in the manner as set out in this Measure with Cape Wool SA, a non-profit organization, so as to create a central database of names and contact details of individuals and organizations involved in the production, trading, processing and exporting of wool. The associated statutory measure for records and returns provides the framework for recording this data on a customised national wool industry database, to be used for the development of the sector. Cape Wool SA shall facilitate access to the wool market for all participants, promote the efficiency of the Marketing of Wool and optimize the export income from wool in accordance with the Marketing of Agricultural Products Act.
