Abstract

These Regulations, for purposes of sections 18 and 27 of the Maritime Zones Act, provide that the geodesic lines connecting the geographical coordinates of the points set out in the Schedule to these Regulations shall, pursuant to the recommendations of the United Nations Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf made on 30 March 2011, be the outer limits of the extended continental shelf of Mauritius in the Mascarene Plateau region. The geographical coordinates delineate the “joint zone” as defined by the Treaty Concerning the Joint Management of the Continental Shelf in the Mascarene Plateau Region between Seychelles and Mauritius.
