Abstract The objectives of this Law shall be to carry out maritime activities such as transportation by ships flying the national flag of Mongolia, search for, use, and extraction of marine resources, fishing, marine science research, ensuring safety at sea, protecting the marine environment, registering ships, and flagging. Only the law of Mongolia shall apply to ships flying the flag of Mongolia. Maritime Administration shall regulate and organize seaport use activities in accordance with the agreement between the government and the coastal state. Maritime Administration shall implement the following rights and obligations: (a) register vessels in the Mongolian State Ship Registry; (b) technical supervision of ship structures, engines and other equipment; (c) monitoring vessel location and remote monitoring activities; and (d) prevention of marine pollution from ships and adoption of relevant measures in case of pollution.
