Abstract

This Act amends Chapter 11 of Title 21 of the Liberian Code of Laws of 1956. All matters affecting the operation and control of Liberian—registered pleasure watercraft, yachts, fishing vessels and other domestic commercial vessels operating in and outside the territorial waters of the Republic of Liberia shall be governed by this Chapter. The Commissioner shall make Rules and Regulations carrying out the provisions of this Chapter. The Act sets out: eligibility of registration; procedures of registration, rules relative to collisions. All vessels registered under this Chapter shall be required to be in compliance with all Regulations set forth in Annexes I and II of the International convention for the Prevention of Pollution by oil, 1973, as modified by the Protocol of 1978, in so far as required.
