Abstract These Regulations, consisting of 13 sections completed by four schedules, prescribe mandatory safety equipment for lightweight craft as vessels for the purposes of the Marine and Safety Authority Act 1997, and provide for vessels not operating in designated waters; the wearing of approved personal flotation devices (Life jackets) by persons on certain lightweight craft; towage permits and offences and penalties for illegal activities.
