Abstract The provisions of this law aim at the improvement of cereal, forage and leguminous seed production. It aims for the: production, improvment, conservaton and effective utilization of seeds; development of a national plant breeding base; conservation of valuable varieties and hybrids in variety renewal and replacement processes; providing the agricultural sector with high-quality seeds; realization of the state control of seed and quality control in seed production. The law, which is composed of 20 articles, set forth provisions for varietal development, agricultural research in varietal development, variety testing and release, seed processing and storage, seed quality control.
