Its main directions include diversification of energy supply sources, optimal use of Georgia’s energy resources and creating reserves; using Georgia’s renewable energy resources; gradual approximation of the Georgian legislation with the EU’s legislation; development of the energy market in Georgia and improvement of the energy trade mechanism; increasing Georgia’s role in the region as the transit country; developing Georgia as the regional center of clean energy production and trading this energy; developing a unified approach to energy efficiency and its implementation; considering the environmental factors in energy projects; and improving the customer service and protection of consumer rights.
