The Act states that all private forests shall stand acquired and vest, free from all encumbrances, with all rights in or over the same with the State government. The government shall make all payments and settle all dues with existing owners of the private forests in order to acquire the same. Any disputes relating to ownership shall be settled by the Maharashtra Revenue Tribunal in accordance with the procedure mentioned under this Act. Full text English
