Abstract The Rules provide for the constitution and procedure of the State Consumer Protection Council and the District Consumer Protection Council, established in accordance with the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, 1986. In particular, they establish composition, duties and responsibilities of the State Consumer Protection Council which shall consist of 60 specific food and market members (including the Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee) constituted by Notification of the State Government in the Official Gazette.
