The Act provides for the appointment of Chairperson and other Members of the Authority, their required qualification, remuneration and conditions of service. The Authority must recommend a water tariff system to the government for use of surface as well as sub-surface water for uses including the agriculture sector, drinking and domestic use, industrial use, power generation and commercial use. The Authority may receive grants from the government, must maintain proper accounts and prepare annual reports which shall be presented before the state legislature.
