Regulation 4 specifies activities on land that are prohibited without having a Type A Permit, whereas regulation 5 lists activities for which a Type B permit is required. No person shall deposit material or debris in a watercourse contrary to the Northwest Territories Waters Act or the Fisheries Act, or any regulations made under those Acts (reg.9). Regulation 18 lists criteria for eligibility for a permit. An application for a permit shall be submitted to the Water Boards for specified areas, or the Mackenzie Valley Land and Water Board if more than one area is concerned (reg. 19). Conditions that may be included in a permit for land use are listed in regulation 26. Land use plans shall be submitted by applicants in accordance with regulations 19 and 29. The Board shall keep a register of applications received (reg. 40).
