Abstract

This Law declares that the Parliament is committed to improving the competitiveness of Hungarian farmers in the agricultural market, strengthening their economic positions, and supports the development of optimally sized domestic agriculture based on a stable ownership structure. Therefore, with the aim of speeding up the liquidation of undivided common land ownership relations, the Parliament has settled the ownership relations of undivided common land for agricultural and forestry purposes that have developed over the past decades, and thus, for the benefit of Hungarian farmers, holdings that can be cultivated economically and can be used or owned without administrative burdens, so that a national property structure with optimal size and transparent usage and ownership conditions can be established. The scope of this Law is covering all real estate classified as agricultural and forestry land. This Law also closely regulates the rules regarding termination of undivided joint ownership by dividing the property; termination of undivided joint ownership by taking the property into the ownership of a single co-owner; common rules for property acquisition.
