Abstract

The state of Lower Austria promotes the construction of soil protection systems in accordance with the funding guidelines. The construction and maintenance of soil protection systems can only be carried out within the framework of this funding by the Lower Austrian agricultural district authority. Subsidies for soil protection systems can be used by the following applicants in Lower Austria: Communities (agricultural, conservation, land consolidation and amalgamation communities); Municipalities; and private natural and legal persons such as owners and managers of agricultural and forestry land. Funding can be granted for the following types of soil protection systems: a) systems for protecting agricultural land from wind erosion, water erosion or other hazards; b) surface plantings for landscaping purposes; and enclosures for the protection of special agricultural crops (such as fruit, wine, field vegetables) and agricultural infrastructure.
