Abstract

This Strategy supplements and broadens preconditions for the development of the energy sector as laid down in the Development Strategy of Latvia until 2030. In order to ensure a balanced energy policy that is consistent with economic and social interests, the main objective of this Strategy is to establish a competitive economy, by developing a well-balanced, effective, market-principle based energy policy, which ensures the further development of the Latvian economy, its competitiveness in the region and worldwide, and welfare of the society.
