Abstract

"Locust" is defined in section 3 as "any gregarious species of grasshopper which has the habit of forming migratory swarms". The occupier of any land whereupon flying locust appears shall notify the District Commissioner (sect. 4). The Ministry may take such steps for the destruction of any locust or locust eggs on any land as it may deem advisable (sect. 5). No compensation shall be payable by the Government for loss caused by measures taken under section 5.
