Abstract The present Regulation is made under the Animal Health Act. In particular, the Regulation replaces three existing Regulations: 1) Livestock Market and Livestock Assembling Station Regulation, 2) Livestock Disease Control Regulation, and 3) Livestock Market and Livestock Assembling Station Operator's Licence Regulation. The present Regulation provides for a greater number of facilities in which animals for sale pass through. The current licensing term has been extended and amended record-keeping requirements which shall enable effective disease prevention and response. Sections related to animal welfare have been repealed to avoid redundancy with the Animal Protection Act.
