Abstract

The purpose of this Act is to provide for matters related to the improvement and propagation of livestock, improvement of livestock environment, the structural improvement of the livestock farming business, the control of demand and supply, the stabilization of prices, and the improvement of distribution system for livestock and products thereof, etc. in order to contribute to the development of the livestock farming business, the increase of livestock farmers' income and the stable supply of livestock products. The Act consists of 54 articles divided into 7 Chapters: General provisions (I); Improvement of livestock and artificial insemination, etc. (II); Demand and supply, etc. of livestock products (III); Livestock market and grading of livestock products (IV); Livestock development fund (V); Supplementary provisions (VI); Penal provisions (VII). The term "livestock" means: ox, horse, goat, sheep, pig and chicken which are bred, and other animals or poultry, etc. The term "livestock products" means the meat, milk, eggs and honey produced by the livestock, and their processed goods, raw hide (including raw fur), raw wool, etc.
