Abstract

The Regulations provide of the discipline of identification and movement of pigs; pigs must be marked with an ear mark, in accordance with arrangements approved by the Department of Agriculture (reg. 4); pigs must be tagged with one or more ear tags, in accordance with arrangements approved by the Department of Agriculture (reg. 5); pigs may not be moved between holdings except with the authorisation of a movement certificate issued in accordance with arrangements made by the Department of Agriculture. Each person (natural or legal) who has care or control of pigs (to any degree, and whether or not shared with others) is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations 4 and 5.
