To act as agent in an abattoir a person shall register with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture acting as licensing authority (reg. 3). Duties of agents are outlined in regulation 8. Delivery of animals to an abattoir shall be reported to the Botswana Meat Commission and agents shall duly mark animals for identification purposes. The Commission shall supply the agent with weight and grading sheets (reg. 9). The remaining provisions concern various financial arrangements and prescribe offences.
