Abstract

Members of the Livestock and Livestock Products Board established under section 3, shall be appointed by the Minister responsible for agriculture. The Board shall consist of seven members (sect. 4). Functions of the Board are: to administer livestock support programs; to promote cooperatives in the livestock industry; to monitor the industry and collect and disseminate information; to maintain a register of livestock farmers; to set quality guidelines for the sale of livestock and livestock products; to carry out other functions relative to research, advising, communication, etc. Section 10 grants regulation making powers to the Minister.
