Live Fish Import License Conditions under Chapter 8(1) of Fisheries Order, 2009. The Regulation establishes for the importer (a) to be registered with the Fisheries Department at the Ministry; (b) has a valid live fish import license; (c) has premises with quarantine facilities approved by the Fisheries Department; (d) complies with the fish disease control measures. The Regulation provides for both consignment in the exporting country and consignment in Brunei Darussalam, with particular regard to (i) conditions for the handling and packaging; (ii) health certificates and CITES import/export permits; (iii) approved fish farms; (iv) absence of diseases listed by OIE on the fish farms of origin; (v) inspections of consignments; (vi) quarantine requirements and related records; (vii) inspection and sampling of live fish for disease analysis and monitoring; (viii) rules on the process of disposing of live fish infected with disease, disinfecting tanks, ponds, cages, and equipment; (ix) procedures in case of a high death rate.
