Abstract The aim of this Decree is to regulate catching and fishing of fish and other living organisms in the Syrian public waters. The public waters include marine and inland waters, as specified in Section 1. This Decree is composed of of 75 Sections, divided into 5 Titles: Title I deals with terms and defintions. Title II provides for regulation of fishing. Title III addresses the following: fishing licences; fishing rights; fishing leases and fish breeding; fishing vessels and fishermen; and regulation of sponge diving. Title IV concerns with: sponge diving; labor contracts for sponge diving; and penalties. Title V contains general provisions. Full text English
