Abstract The aim of this Legislative Decree is to regulate the establishment of cooperatives. This Legislative Decree is composed of 8 Sections divided into 69 articles. Section I contains general provisions including terms and definitions. Section II deals with the establishment of cooperatives including: (a) requirements and conditions, (b) constituent act, (c) registration procedures; and (d) membership. Section III refers to the management of cooperatives in particular: (a) Administrative Council; (b) budget and account reviser; (c) reports; and (d) general assembly. Section IV pertains to incomes and financial resources of cooperatives. Section V provides for the control on cooperatives. Section VI deals with common cooperatives and cooperative unions. Section VII deals with the dissolution and liquidation of cooperatives. Section VIII contains offences and penalties.
