Abstract This Legislative Decree aims at protecting plants against diseases by regulating agricultural quarantine. The present Decree is composed of 12 articles. Article 1 deals with terms and definitions. Article 2 imposes agricultural consignments to be subject to agricultural quarantine measures. Article 4 specifies the documents and certificates to be provided with agricultural consignments. Article 5 provides for the issuance of licences for the importation of living insects, bacteria, virus and the like for scientific purposes. Article 6 defines the requirements and conditions for the importation of seeds and cereals. Article 7 concerns with requirements and conditions for the exportation of agricultural consignments. Article 8 provides for requirements and conditions for agricultural consignments in transit. Article 11 contains offences and penalties.
