The Legislative Decree entered into force on 16 August 2011.
Abstract

This Legislative Decree amends legislation in force to put it in line with the provisions laid down under Directive 2008/99/EC on the protection of the environment through criminal law and Directive 2005/35/EC on ship-source pollution and on the introduction of penalties for infringements. Firstly, it amends the Criminal Code by inserting new articles 727 bis and 733 bis, which lay down the penalties to be applied in case of violation of rules cocnerning the protection of habitats and the conservation of wildlife species. Further, the Decree lays down some amendments to the Code on the Environment as regards infringements and related penalties.
