Abstract The aim of this Legislative Decree is to regulate the production and importation of pesticides. This Legislative Decree is composed of 16 articles. Article 1 deals with terms and definitions. Articles 2 and 3 ban the production, preparation, trade and importation of pesticides without obtaining a previous licence from the Ministry of Trade and Agriculture. Article 4 entrusts the Minister of Trade and Agriculture to issue a list of all registered and allowed pesticides. Articles 5 and 6 define the requirements and conditions for chemical pesticides and their packages. Article 7 specifies requirements and conditions for the conservation and storage of pesticides. Articles 8-10 relate to procedures for the registration of pesticides. Article 11 defines licence fees and taxes. Article 12 provides for the obligations of licensees.
