Abstract The purpose of this Resolution is to regulate the use and trade of pearls and precious stones. This Legislative Decree is composed of 13 articles. Article 1 deals with terms and definitions. Article 2 specifies the procedures and requirements for the sale of pearls and precious stones. Article 3 entrusts the Ministry of Commerce and Agriculture to control the production and trade of pearls and precious stones. Article 4 prescribes that imported pearls and precious stones be subjected to chemical analysis. Article 5 prohibits the trade in cultured pearls. Article 6 specifies the requirements and conditions for pearl and precious stone exhibitions. Articles 9-11 pertain to liability of the aforementioned activity as well as offences and penalties.
