Abstract

This Law regulates the production, purchase, processing, and trade of raw tobacco leaf, as well as the production and trade of products deriving from tobacco. For the purposes of this Law, tobacco means the leaves of a cultivated plant species of the genus Nicotiana tabacum L. with the types: hot air dried Flue-Cured Virginia; Burley dried in the shade; Herzegovinian plain dried in the sun. Due to the economic and fiscal importance of the production of tobacco and tobacco products, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will encourage the blooming of domestic production through development and economic policy measures, within the regulations and acts governing over the domestic tobacco plant production. The Federal Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry prescribes the regulations for the production of tobacco and for balancing of quantities of tobacco for domestic needs and export.
