Abstract This Law provides for the restoration of the Sevan Lake ecosystem as a strategic reserve for the reproduction, conservation and management of freshwater resources. As such, Sevan lake shall be deemed state property not subject to expropriation, and shall have the permanent status of protected area. The Law further provides for the entire area of Sevan Lake and its water conservation zone to be subject to ecological zoning.
