Abstract This Law sets out conditions for the protection of new agricultural plant varieties as well as legal procedures for the acquisition of breeders' rights and their protection. According to the content and duration of breeders' rights, the Law also deals with the transfer, lease and representation of such rights. The administration of this Law is the responsibility of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. The Law is composed by 9 Chapters divided into 52 sections.
