Abstract Article 1 of the present Law establishes that the Power Station Obwalden is a public institute with its own legal personality and location in Kerns. The public mission of the Power Station includes: a) the safe, economic and environmentally friendly supply of the Canton Obwalden with electric energy; b) the promotion of rational energy use and the use of renewable energy in the context of market economy services.
