The present Law enters into force on 1 May 2010.
Abstract

The present Law enforces the Federal Energy Act of 26 June 1998. In particular, the Law: 1) establishes the principles for a sound cantonal energy policy; 2) creates favourable conditions for an economical and rational energy use, and in particular the use of renewable energies; 3) ensures an environment-friendly energy use; 4) implements the federal legislation on energy. The text consists of 38 articles divided into 6 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Organization (II); Energy saving measures for building and facilities in general (III); Promotion measures (IV); Legal protection and penalties (V); Transitional and final provisions (VI).
