Abstract The present Law enforces the Federal Energy Act of 26 June 1998. In particular, the Law: 1) establishes the principles for a sound cantonal energy policy; 2) creates favourable conditions for an economical and rational energy use, and in particular the use of renewable energies; 3) ensures an environment-friendly energy use; 4) implements the federal legislation on energy.
