Abstract

This Law regulates the manner, procedures and scope of supervision of the wholesale of electricity and natural gas on the market (with intention of protection against insider information and prohibition of wholesale abuse on such markets). Wholesale electricity and natural gas market is the market in which participants trade in energy products, namely: 1) electricity or natural gas, which are the subject of the supply contract, or transfer; 2) derivatives of electricity or natural gas; 3) electricity or natural gas, which are the subject of the supply contract, that is, distribution, concluded with a natural or legal person who buys electricity-energy or natural gas for own consumption (end customer), with a maximum projected consumption above 600 GWh per year. Supervision of the wholesale market is performed by the Regulatory energy and communal activities Agency. Chapter IV sets out related penalty measures.
