Abstract

The purpose of this Law is to standardise the relationships between growers of sugar beet, processors of sugar beet, traders and other participants in the sugar market and government institutions and to establish the necessary conditions for the implementation of a State Sugar Policy. The declared policy of the State is that is shall support domestic growing and processing of sugar beet and guarantee and protect domestic supply of sugar. authorized institutions shall develop projects to balance sugar production, importation and exportation, implement a customs duty policy, regulate and fix price levels, and establish import quotas for sugar. Also measures regarding the regulation of the internal market and the centralisation of sugar production through the establishment of a producer association are introduced. A Sugar Fund shall be established as a non-profit organization. It shall enhance the technical reorganization of the growing and processing of sugar industry. (8 articles)
