Waters under rule of this Law include the Persian Gulf, the Sea of Oman, the Caspian Sea and all navigable rivers of the Country. All ships, tankers and vessels entering these waters should be insured against any damages caused by oil pollution. In case of pollution, the Master of the vessel shall inform local authorities immediately. The polluter may be detained and their vessels may be seized till the decision of the competent court will be clarified. The violation of the provisions of this Act may is punishable by fine or imprisonment.
