Abstract This Law governs the economic and non-economic aspects of the creation, legal protection and use of inventions, utility models and industrial designs. An invention shall be industrially applicable if it can be made or used in industry, agriculture, public health or other fields. Neither plant varieties nor animal breeds shall constitute patentable inventions. Strains of microorganisms, plants or animal cells, or their use for a new purpose, may not be protected as utility models. The Law establishes terms and conditions for the issuance of patents.
