Abstract

Article 1 of the above-mentioned Law establishes that cattle, calves, pigs, goats, sheep, horses and other equines shall be slaughtered in the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg in slaughterhouses only. However, if animals must be slaughtered immediately as a result of some misadventure, they may be slaughtered outside slaughter premises. The text consists of 5 articles as follows: Obligatory slaughtering in slaughter premises (1); Emergency slaughtering and slaughtering in special cases (2); Home slaughtering (3); Religious slaughtering (4); Penalties (5); Repeal (6).
