Abstract

The purpose of this Act is to lay down rules for the keeping of livestock, the marking and registration of livestock and the collection of statistics and other data on livestock. "Livestock" in this Act refers to poultry, goats, horses, rabbits, fur animals, cattle, sheep and pigs. If a dispute arises as to what should be covered by the term livestock, a decision shall be taken on this by the Icelandic Food and Veterinary Authority.
