Abstract The purpose of the present Law is to regulate waterworks to ensure the safety of rivers and brooks, as well as their natural environment. The Canton and local authorities shall be entrusted with the task of maintaining, correcting and improving rivers and brooks. Article 2 and 3 list, respectively, all waters to be considered as rivers and brooks. The text consists of 33 articles divided into 4 Parts as follows: Waterworks (I); Waterwork surveillance (II); Special provisions (III); Penal, transitional and final provisions (IV).
